Hello!

I’m a writer and freelance editor living near Indianapolis with the hubs, kids, cats, and dogs (the cats are my favorite). I’ve created two volumes of Cafe Macabre: A Collection of Horror Stories and Art by Women which, taken together, combine the work of over thirty women writers and artists. The first volume was published by SourcePoint Press.

My nine-story collection, A Novel of Shorts: The Woman No One Sees, weaves together to tell the story of Esther, the tragic cleaning woman who exists on the periphery even in her own life…and collects dust.

I’ve had short stories published with Scout Media and Of Rust and Glass, and my creative non-fiction appears in Defenestration Mag,  River and South Review, and The Wrath-Bearing Tree. My essay “My Bleeding Heart” was published in the Indiana Writer’s Center 2020 anthology What Is and What Will Be: Life in the Time of COVID, as part of the 25th annual Spirit and Place Festival, selected by Dance Kaleidoscope to be used in choreography, and nominated for a Pushcart Prize.

My cousin and I worked together to write her memoir, Beautifully Broken: The Katy Hayes Story about her adjustment to life as a quadruple amputee, and it’s coming out in 2022. Currently, I’m working on a memoir about the ways my father’s experience in Vietnam affected him, and by extension, me.

Other than that, I’m a mom with impeccable fashion sense. I do cub scout things. I work for the Indiana Writers Center as a social media coordinator,  volunteer with the Lafayette Writers Studio, and serve the executive director for the Midwest Writers Workshop. I am the fiction/nonfiction editor for Of Rust and Glass: A Midwest Creative Collective (I started doing that *before* they published my story, I swear!).

I write and edit and eat Doritos when everyone else is asleep. It’s not so bad.
